What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brain Injury Specialist -Overnight Position position at Community Neuro Rehab of Iowa?
The Brain Injury position supports and motivates program participants in our residential brain injury rehabilitation facility as they address cognitive, physical, medical, behavioral and psycho-social rehabilitation programming goals (our employees do not provide personal cares). Employees support program participants as they work to develop behavioral compensatory strategies to assisting in coping with manifestations of the brain injury to include struggles with mental health. This engagement supports program participants in developing the skillset to return to lives of personal meaning where they live, learn, work and recreate in their chosen communities.
We are seeking professionally-minded individuals who are looking for an opportunity to learn and grow with our expanding company. Extensive training is provided and includes national certification in brain injury services. Ideal candidates will have experience in the human services, brain injury, or mental health field or currently seeking a degree in these fields. This position does require every other weekend rotation. Positions are available at our Des Moines locations for:
- OWN shift (9:45PM - 7:15AM)
All shifts require every other weekend rotation.

- CNR fully paid sponsorship for becoming a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) in the first twelve (12) months.

- An associate's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field with two or more years of experience (college students are encouraged to apply)
- Driving requirement - Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and have a good driving record in accordance with CNR's policies and procedures
- Able to pass state and federal background checks, and a pre-employment physical and drug screen are required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred (Currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply)
- Experience working with individuals with brain injury, mental illness or other disability
- Desire to help our program participants achieve the highest level of independence as possible
Salary : $20
