REPORTS TO: Regional Publisher
LOCATION: Elberton, Georgia

Community Newspapers, Inc. is seeking a proven leader to serve as editor and publisher of The Elberton Star. This award-winning newspaper is located in the scenic lake country of northeast Georgia and has an active readership that is deeply tied to the community it serves. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
· Lead a staff to produce a weekly newspaper that publishes on Wednesday
· Serve as brand ambassador for newspaper
· Direct coverage of public meetings and events for reporters
· Assign stories, write stories and institutional editorials
· Manage a dynamic sales team
· Build annual budget and business plan
· Manage website and social media channels
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 5 years of newspaper experience
· Knowledge of AP Style
· Proficient in Adobe InDesign
· Strong sense of community
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
