What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial and Maintenance Technician position at Community Nurse?
Community Nurse is seeking a part-time 25 hours/week Property Maintenance Technician responsible for upkeep of two office buildings located in Fairhaven and Dartmouth.
This is an ideal role for a semi-retired person who enjoys a combination of janitorial and building maintenance challenges.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Must have experience and willingness in janitorial duties such as collecting office trash and recycling for curbside pickup.
- Address all maintenance emergencies in a timely fashion; coordinating with contracting specialists as needed.
- Take lead role vendor work for building repairs or maintenance and discuss ongoing needs and projects with CEO.
- Respond to off hours building security alarms.
- Repair or monitor minor plumbing and/or electrical issues.
- Ability to assemble and/or move office furniture or equipment as needed.
- Oversee landscaping vendor participating in minor upkeep to maintain grounds cleanliness and curb appeal.
- Help maintains safe working conditions for employees and residents, resolving safety concerns quickly.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure all essential duties are fulfilled to satisfactory level.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Minimum qualifications:
- Successful previous property maintenance experience preferred
- Self-motivated, responsible, accountable and mature
- Experience with light carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
- Painting experience
- Highest levels of honesty, integrity and ethics
- Ability to function in various weather and climate conditions
- Ability to lift heavy objects when needed
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent required
- Driver's License and must have a vehicle (preferred truck or utility vehicle)
- Periodically must be able to be on call after hours, holidays and weekends.
Salary : $20 - $25
