Job Title: Special Needs Ministry Associate
Purpose Statement: Connect, equip and empower people to bring the reality of God to their world.
Reports to: COF Kids Pastor
Responsibilities:
Innovate, shape, oversee, and lead the development and implementation of all aspects of COF Special Needs Ministry.
The Special Needs Ministry Associate responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting and fulfilling the vision, values and goals of COF
- Demonstrate loyalty and integrity, supporting the unity of the church and its leadership.
- Understand and align with the main vision of COF, promoting that vision within COF Special Needs Ministry.
- Oversee the COF Special Needs experience on weekends and during special events.
- Seek to create engaging, biblically sound, purpose-filled curriculum and experiences for special needs families and children in our church.
- Educate and assist COF staff with regard to Special Needs Ministry
- Cast vision, recruit, train, lead and develop COF special needs volunteers.
- Establish and implement quality standards for all COF special needs volunteers to ensure the safety of all.
- Create a volunteer culture with a set of behaviors, terms, and values to ensure the optimal COF special needs experience.
- Ensure consistency in all systems and procedures each weekend.
- Ensure the timely follow-up of all contacts including conversations, workflows, phone calls, emails, and social media contacts.
- Develop and maintain communication with other ministry teams to ensure a seamless experience for COF Special Needs Ministry.
- Develop and maintain communication with COF staff to serve as a resource for them.
Qualifications:
- Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- A baptized believer of Jesus Christ
- High commitment to, and practices, regular prayer and time in the Word
- Driven to constantly improve job functions – not satisfied with status quo
- Flexibility, focus, and a strong work ethic are essential
- Ability to follow through and juggle multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to take initiative within scope of job duties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar and spelling

Work Schedule: 20-25 hours per week, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Special events as needed
