Position Summary: Provides comprehensive network support by maintaining, developing, securing, and monitoring Community of Hope's networks, while promptly resolving helpdesk issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The pay rate for this position ranges between $31.25 - $36.05 per hour and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. really provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's offer range.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements, and support secure IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
  • Conducts regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate potential risks.
  • Monitors system performance and security events, responding to incidents and mitigating threats.
  • Provides tier 2 support for helpdesk tickets related to infrastructure and security issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that security considerations are integrated into all projects and operations.
  • Assists and supports Network Engineer with firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Maintains documentation for infrastructure configurations, security protocols, and incident response procedures.
  • Stays current with the latest security threats, trends, and compliance requirements to recommend improvements.
  • Provides training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices.
  • Maintains strong customer service skills when working with users, vendors, and other partners.
  • Performs preventative maintenance of COH infrastructure.
  • Handles sensitive information with care and discretion to ensure confidentiality.
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support with a focus on security, including helpdesk support.
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
  • Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell) for automation and security tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g. Security , CySA , Network )
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools (e.g. Azure).
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Ability to travel to other COH sites required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, required.

  • In relation to remote vs. on-site work, this position is classified as the following:

Hybrid: Remote work and on-site work requirements are generally split roughly 50/50.

Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For over 40 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and supportive services for under-resourced, underserved and people experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2020, Community of Hope provided about 28,400 medical visits, 7,000 dental visits, and 10,000 behavioral health visits for about 11,000 patients. Community of Hope provides community walk-in COVID testing and COVID vaccines. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers in DC of housing and support services for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Through providing these programs, we live out our mission to improve health and end family and individual homelessness to make Washington, DC, more equitable.
