Description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.

We are now hiring a Full-Time Director of Community Services in Ogden, UT. The Director of Community Services is responsible for developing and managing in-home supports, residential services, and community-based services. This person will maintain high-quality programs in accordance with state and local regulations.

Starting Salary: $55,000.00 per year

Schedule: Monday-Friday. On call required after hours and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Develop new programs including in-home supports, family model, host homes, and community-based services, and liaison with managed care organizations
  • Lead and train teams to support programmatic initiatives, goals, daily routines, and the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assess referrals for adults and children requiring supports and coordinate program admissions
  • Oversee daily operations of in-home supports, residential services, and community-based services
  • Liaison with referral sources to identify program placement opportunities
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with state licensing and reporting standards
  • Assist with quality assurance and program improvement activities with a focus on improving current policies, practices, and procedures
  • Provide training on programs, policies, and procedures to improve service delivery
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and performance management
  • Assist with monitoring and managing overtime
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health
  • Experience working with behavior challenged children and adults
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
