What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director of Development (IDD Services) position at Community Options, Inc.?
Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring a skilled Regional Director of Development in Wayne, NJ. The Regional Director of Development is responsible for the development and successful execution of multiple communications and outreach initiatives. The Director will establish and foster relationships with corporations, foundations, and local governments across New Jersey to identify partnership opportunities and advisory council members. Responsibilities
- Partner with the Community Options’ executive management team in support of the organization’s business plans and objectives
- Develop and strengthen relationships with individuals, corporations, government agencies, and foundations
- Expand Community Options’ New Jersey affordable housing program
- Recruit members for Community Options Business Advisory Councils (COBACs) and identify potential Board members
- Educate and engage key volunteers (COBAC members) in mission advancement
- Collaborate with the Development Department to market annual 5K, gala, and other fundraising efforts
- Attend and represent organization at internal and external events
- Work in tandem with state, regional, executive, associate, managing, and other directors to coordinate outreach activities
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field, a Master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum five years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated project management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Experience motivating and collaborating successfully with volunteers
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Commitment to and knowledge of community-based support for persons with disabilities
- Knowledge of marketing/sales fundamentals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and trade-specific software
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public
- Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and/or as part of a team
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
