SUPERVISORY SOCIAL SERVICES ASSISTANT

On-Call Stipend per protocol
FLSA: Non-exempt (overtime eligible)
Pay Range: $17.00 / Hour to $20.00 / Hour.
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to: Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
Purpose:
Acting as Shift Supervisor, supervising and directing Transformative Pathways Program Shelter Staff and clients from a person first and strengths perspective, deploying approved methodologies, COI procedures, protocols, and Community Standards. Using Relationship Principles and Principles for Purposeful Living in tandem, ensure that COI Standards are followed, provide support to clients, make referrals as needed, coordinate with COI’s community partners, and ensure that employees on assigned shift/s are properly trained and supervised. Address Client issues with Client and staff promptly and make supervisory decisions and action steps as indicated. Make client referrals to the MDT Team as indicated.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the shelter facilities and SSA Staff, including such activities as inventory control, ensuring that sleeping areas, kitchens, bathrooms, food pantries and storerooms are stocked sufficiently, keeping things organized, and opening and closing the shelter.
- Assign duties weekly to staff on assigned shift/s, as needed.
- Assist SSA Staff Respond to requests and needs for food boxes, housing screenings, messages, mail and other services.
- Supervise Staff to ensure that residents complete their daily routines, chores and goals, ensuring compliance with agency rules and requirements.
- Work in control centers, answer inquiries and telephones professionally and promptly, routing messages and calls, and performing administrative duties as required or assigned.
- Cooperate with staff to conduct client urinalysis and breathalyzer readings as required or assigned.
- Assist with and perform housekeeping functions, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and laundry as needed.
- Promptly report shift staffing and other issues to MDT. Provide appropriate responses to shelter incidents, assist with crisis intervention, and contact and interact with various emergency services and other agencies as required or assigned.
- Document pertinent information to client files, Progress Notes Logs, and statistical, program and other reports as needed.
- Provide case managers and therapists with relevant client information.
- Help cover shifts as needed.
- Ensure staff training for employees on assigned shift/s.
- Maintain a safe and secure facility, reporting maintenance and safety issues promptly.

- Participate in weekly check-in meetings with MDT, shelter events and meetings.
- Understand COI policies and guidelines and ensure compliance when making decisions.
- Help with any extra duties, and perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- COI Social Services Assistant experience
- High school degree or equivalent
- Commitment to COI’s Vision, and Mission, while serving as a client advocate appropriately.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle competing priorities in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Computer proficiency with standard office environment programs.
- Excellent dependability, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with clients and confidentiality, and successfully complete a state background check.
- Ability to lift or maneuver 25 lbs., as well as stand, kneel, stoop, bend and sit.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
