What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supportive Services Specialist position at Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri?
CPSEMO’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP) provides trauma-informed, community-based services, case management, and housing support to youth up to age 24 who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness. In this role, the YHDP Supportive Services Specialist monitors three pilot programs designed to offer youth immediate crisis housing options. As part of these efforts, Specialists help youth locate and access safe, stable housing and coordinate additional supportive services to facilitate long-term success.
Responsibilities
Administrative Leadership and Management
- Maintain successful youth housing pilot projects under the guidance of CPSEMO leadership.
- Implement a low-barrier access point for youth, employing creative housing solutions.
- Assess and improve program efficiency to deliver positive client outcomes; recommend and implement enhancements as necessary.
- Develop and sustain partnerships with community agencies and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with youth, community partners, and crisis host home providers.
- Practice a Housing First approach by prioritizing immediate housing stability for clients.
- Maintain accurate client files and records in CPSEMO’s internal database and any required databases.
- Monitor program timeframes and promptly submit funding requests.
- Connect youth to appropriate resources using both community partnerships and internal CPSEMO programs.
- Travel as needed (with or without accommodation) to attend or present at in-service trainings, Balance of State meetings, and provide direct client care (with a minimum of one face-to-face client contact per month).
- Offer transportation to clients who lack reliable transit options.
- Promote program visibility by distributing informational materials, scheduling meetings, speaking at presentations, and hosting exhibit booths.
- Engage in professional development through meetings, trainings, and professional memberships as directed by YHDP leadership.
- Collaborate actively with all agency departments to ensure effective support for youth and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Maintain open communication with the YHDP Program Manager regarding service delivery, challenges, or questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field, with at least three (3 ) years of experience in nonprofit social services.
- Experience with at-risk teen populations required; lived experience with housing instability is preferred.
- Understanding of child welfare practice and policy is strongly recommended.
- Proven ability to set priorities, identify efficiencies, and invest in people and systems effectively.
- Commitment to supporting youth, practicing advocacy and trauma-informed care.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and advocate in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas persuasively and clearly.
- Ability to build trust and rapport quickly with youth in crisis.
- Flexible, self-motivated approach, capable of handling multiple tasks with close attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
- Team-oriented, willing to work in partnership with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
- Exhibit professional ethics and conduct at all times.
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License and car insurance required.
- Flexible availability to meet client needs, including variable work hours as necessary.

This is a remote position but the candidate must live in the State of Missouri.
Salary : $36,000 - $40,000
