Description : CPC is seeking candidates for our Nutrition Assistant centered position in the Women's, Infant & Children's (WIC) program.
SUMMARY : Provides services to WIC participants by completing nutrition education appointments. In addition, makes referrals to other health and social services and supports determination of eligibility. This position will primarily serve York City but could be assigned to our other surrounding York County clinics as needed.

Competencies :
The Nutrition Assistant shall demonstrate the following job skills and knowledge.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Those candidates for the position of nutrition assistant who have at least six months previous experience in nutrition or have completed and passed an approved college course in nutrition or dietetics will be given preference. Having previous work experience with a WIC program is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily as well as be committed to the mission, vision and core values of the agency.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Travel to any of our satellite clinics as needed. Reliable transportation to assigned facilities throughout York County. Regular and timely attendance as an essential job requirement. Ability to be reached by telephone in a timely manner. May be required to commence workday at different agency sites without compensation for travel time or mileage to the site and the return. Ability to respond to change in a productive manner and handle other tasks as assigned. Ability to work with diverse individuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
COMPUTER : Proficient using a personal computer and Microsoft office software, such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Ability to learn stand-alone WIC related programs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Department of Human Services FBI Clearance, PA State Criminal History, Childline Child Abuse Certification, and submission to the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) required prior to hire. A physical assessment including a tuberculosis skin test and the Child Abuse “Mandated Reporter” training due within 90-days of hire. Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Sitting for long periods of time. Frequently stoop, kneel, reach with hands / arms, and walk often. Moderately frequent lifting up to ten pounds and occasionally lifting up to twenty-five pounds.
