JOB DESCRIPTION

 Residential Coordinator

Reports To:

 Program Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 

The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’s needs by providing assistance with the operations and service delivery of the DOC residential program.   RC is responsible for maintaining a secure and safe atmosphere for program participants and ensuring residents are adhering to program policies.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct home visits and evening monitoring of client apartments to ensure compliance with agency and funder requirements.
  • Provide support and concrete assistance to tenants, assist/train tenants in the skills of daily living
  • Ensure residents comply with housing program rules and guidelines 
  • Promote a safe and supportive housing environment 
  • Keep residents informed of all policies and procedures and ensure compliance with these guidelines
  • Monitor all client activities within the apartment and the community. 
  • Assist with collecting, testing and documenting toxicology surveillance.
  • Conduct semi-annual safety checks and yearly inspections of apartments. 
  • Establish positive landlord relationships and provide landlord mediation.  
  • Assist Case Managers in carrying out their responsibilities such as, shopping for client supplies. 
  • Record all necessary information including log entries, incident reports, and demographic reports.
  • Report any necessary information regarding clients to the Forensic Case Managers and Senior Program Manager.
  • Participate in and conduct training as required.
  • Provide effective customer service including, but not limited to greeting, receiving, and addressing clients with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Ensure all information is accurately entered into STEPS and/or other system as required.  
  • Regular attendance
  • Attend and complete all mandatory trainings

 

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Participate in, retain, and incorporate training as required.
  • Perform all duties relative to special programs/projects as required.
  • Provide input and make recommendations regarding program/departmental policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Reports to and conducts additional duties as required by various funder guidelines and requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Associate's degree preferred but may be substituted with HS diploma and directly related experience. 

 

Minimum Years of Experience: two years of responsible employment experience in the area of Social Work, Criminal Justice and/or related field required. 

 

Demonstrate skills in:  Ability to interact with a diverse population. Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health issues. Excellent communication skills, written and oral, are required. Ability to compile written reports and maintain case notes.  Experience in facilitating groups preferred. Demonstrated ability to utilize computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office.  Project a professional demeanor and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and as part the team and exercises mature judgment. Proficient knowledge in processing confidential information. Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

 

Knowledge of: criminal justice and court system.

Active Driver License in good standing required upon hire and throughout employment.

Physical Ability: Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and materials.

 

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

 

Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
