About CRC: CRC's mission is to help our neighbors create paths to healthy food, stable homes and safe relationships. We do this through a variety of programs including emergency assistance, domestic violence emergency shelter, counseling, housing stability and access to food. Community Resource Center is widely recognized as the primary provider of social services and domestic violence programs in coastal North County San Diego, serving more than 7,200 people each year.
Position Profile: Under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Social Services is responsible for developing and directing the quality and effective delivery of social services through creation and oversight of program standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with the overall mission and strategic priorities of the Community Resource Center (CRC). The Social Services Program Director is responsible for the direct daily supervision of the Program Manager(s) and Project Coordinator(s) within the Social Services Department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain policy and procedures that support contract compliance and incorporate emerging industry best practices that are responsive to the needs of CRC participants and the greater community.
- Provide direct supervision, oversight and mentoring of Program Manager(s). Support the Program Manager(s) in the selection and training of Social Services program staff. Ensure adequate staffing levels and budget for staffing is appropriate and meets program requirements.
- Provide key inputs on strategic program development for expansion and enhancement of CRC s Social Service provision and programming.
- Lead the technical input, target setting and cross-departmental budget development for new funding proposals for the maintenance and expansion of CRC Social services.
- Network and strengthen partnerships with organizations throughout the County of San Diego, representing CRC in public forums and with city and funding partners. Provide training, technical assistance, and educational presentations both internally and to the greater community as needed.
- Ensure Social Services unit is appropriately equipped, communicating with the Operations Department to ensure unit facility and equipment needs are appropriately met.
- In collaboration with the Chief Programs Officer and Chief Executive Officer, research, develop and implement Social Services programs that are responsive to the needs of CRC participants and the greater community.
- Manage Department budget, monitoring expenses against budget and reforecasting as new funding is added.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a social service-related field required. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum five years experience in Social Services or related services.
- Strong Leadership skills with ability motivate teams to achieve success.
- Ability to work sensitively with traumatized and diverse populations and to handle crisis effectively.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with clients, co-workers, and community partners.
- Must possess strong computer and organizational skills, public speaking skills and ability to manage multiple tasks proficiently.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, maintain a professional relationship with clients and staff, consistently strive to present a positive image of the agency to the surrounding communities and be able to perform diverse tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
- Bilingual in Spanish (read/speak/write) preferred.
- MS Office proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Salary : $71,500 - $80,000
