The Business Development Officer (BDO) plays a key role in helping CRCU meet its strategic membership and sales goals. In conjunction with other staff in the CRCU Business Development department, the BDO manages the credit union's relationship with key member companies within the petrochemical, educational and other selected industries and organizations within the credit union's field of membership. The BDO coordinates events and promotions at credit union and Select Employee Group (SEG) sites and other strategic locations within designated territories, and maintains accurate reports and records. This position requires a sales-focused, positive individual who is a self-starter, outgoing, high energy, and is highly motivated. A wide degree of creativity is expected, as is the ability to use prior experience to set and meet goals. This position includes a base salary and incentive potential, based upon results. |

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
| E | 20% | Collaborates with the Business Development Manager to develop strategies to increase membership and acquire prospective SEG's. |
| E | 20% | Conducts on-site new employee orientations, membership drives, and presents financial seminars and presentations to SEGs and other organizations |
| E | 20% | Consults with and interviews members and prospects about their financial goals and needs and to identify and promote credit union products, loans, and services to best meet those needs. |
| E | 15% | Maintains contact and continually develops SEG's. |
| E | 15% | Participates in community development activities such as the Chamber of Commerce, service clubs, and credit union service activities in order to increase credit union visibility and to enhance new membership growth opportunities. |
| E | 5% | Assists the department VP with other duties normally associated with accomplishing the mission of the Marketing & Business Development Departments. |
| N | 5% | Performs all other duties as assigned. |

| 6. | Employee shall demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Knowledge and Skills: |
|
Experience | Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Must fully understand each and every product and service offered by CRCU in order to answer questions and cross-sell appropriate products to contacts, members and potential members. Public speaking skills along with an ability to create and deliver presentations. Knowledge of and above average experience in the use of software, including but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Word, EXCEL, and Power Point. |

Education | A high school education or GED. Associates degree or higher preferred. |

Interpersonal Skills | A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. |

Other Skills | Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include effective outbound calling, emails and correspondence. Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills. Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information. Ability to create sales presentations, plan, budget, track and effectively manage work in process. Pays particular attention to detail, ability to follow-up, prioritize tasks, handle a variety of assignments concurrently and work under pressure are critical. |

Physical Requirements | While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. |

Work Environment | Work is performed indoors and outdoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
