Reporting to the SVP of Lending, The Mortgage Manager is responsible for overseeing mortgage lending functions which may include sales, funding, processing, closing, and servicing. This management position is also responsible for the productivity of the mortgage department and ensures efficient delivery of products and services to members and applicants. Plans and directs the different aspects of mortgage credit policies, objectives and initiatives. Clearly demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Lends assistance, experience, and judgment to the development of the Real Estate Lending policy and management of mortgage lending activities. Leads and directs the work of others. From time to time or as needed, the Mortgage Manager will assist member's loan requests or assign to the appropriate party. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. A thorough understanding of consumer lending, underwriting and products is desirable. The Mortgage Manager shall demonstrate an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for all lending operations and shall be required to update that knowledge as necessary. |

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
| E | 50% | Reviews loan files to validate information and to ensure procedures have been followed to include requests for extensions, modifications and forbearance. Coordinates gathering information and packaging for Participating lenders and investors. Collaborates with VP of Lending to assure volumes are adequately managed to maintain appropriate quality and timeframe levels to meet member, lender and investor expectations. Assures closing accuracy is maintained within acceptable levels and control and monitor to ensure guidelines, documentation and procedures are adhered to. Stays abreast of federal and state compliance changes including certifications and regulations to assure CRCU mortgage operations are compliant. |
| E | 15% | Maintains competent motivated staff through coaching, training, counseling and supervision of department activity and results. Holds monthly staff meetings identifying areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services. Trains, directs and assist with employee performance evaluations within the department and identifies performance problems and takes action to correct. Reviews and approves vacation requests, sick time, and overtime for mortgage loan processing personnel. |
| E | 10% | Manages the Loan Pipeline including the preparation of loan files and the timely submission of these files through the appropriate channels. |
| E | 10% | Assists with various department reporting up to and including, but not limited to: - Preparing Closing Instructions and Closing Documents - Month End Reports - Sending out daily rates - Preparing HMDA Reports for the Mortgage Department - Sending DOT the appropriate counties for recording - Preparation and completion of internal and external audits |
| E | 5% | Maintains close working relationships with third party vendors and real estate agents. |
| E | 5% | Schedules Mortgage Loan Officers and Processors, monitors service delivery, and takes action to resolve problems. |

Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance. |

Knowledge and Skills: |
|
Experience | Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. |
|
|
Education | (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. |
|
|
Interpersonal Skills | Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. |

Other Skills | Extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and procedures. Should be able to run spreadsheet and word processing software. FICS, DU or other mortgage software experience preferred. |

Physical Requirements | While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. |

Work Environment | Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
