2 years of experience working with elementary school students (ages 4 to 11 years old) in a classroom setting and strong classroom management skills
The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) Music4Schools Program is seeking an energetic and dependable Elementary Music Teacher to make a difference in the community, serving elementary school / schools in the San Mateo or Santa Clara School District. The ideal candidate will possess an unwavering commitment to teaching music effectively and comprehensively while inspiring and motivating students to develop a love of music. Professional development and training is provided.
This position is a part-time teaching music instructor position with a class schedule between Monday and Friday serving our partner schools.
Responsibilities :
- Teach a curriculum-based music program to children in a public elementary school setting (Faculty will have online access to curriculum and lesson planning)
- Attend faculty meetings and trainings to enhance faculty and curriculum development (Mentor program for new teachers)
- Develop lesson plans following CSMA curriculum and California State Standards.
- Create a fun and enjoyable learning environment while giving students a solid music foundation
- Prepare students for performances or open classes while providing a fun and creative environment
- Communicate regularly with on-site school staff and CSMA
