Summary
The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) is seeking a highly qualified Summer Camp Head Aide to work at CSMA’s primary Finn Center site in Mountain View. This is a part time temporary onsite position for Summer 2025 and reports to the Summer Camp Lead and Visual Arts Program Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise camp break, lunch activities and extended care sessions
- Monitor camp participants and ensure program safety
- Prepare activity materials, facilitate set up and clean up of break spaces
- Assist in implementing theme days and content for breaks and extended care
- Supervise volunteer aides
- Assist with student check in/out procedures
- Assist teachers with art activities in classrooms, as schedules permit
- Assist Camp Staff in any additional duties related to camp operations
- Communicate in a positive and consistent way with students, parents, and program and administrative staff
Skills and Qualifications
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old, preferred candidates are college students
- Previous experience working with children of elementary age
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fun, energetic and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions in a high-energy environment
- Outstanding oral communication skills; Ability to work with diverse ages and cultures
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Art background or experience working in a art or educational organization desired
Schedule
- This is a part-time temporary position from June through early August 2025.
- Camp sessions run June 9 to August 8, 2025, Monday through Friday, for a total of 9 weeks.
- Schedule shifts are 9:00am - 4:00pm or 10:45am - 5:45pm, Monday through Friday including a 15 minute paid rest break and a 30 minute unpaid meal break. Camp will not be held on Thursday, June 19 or Friday, July 4.
- Additional paid training and meetings will be scheduled during the week of June 2 to 7, 2025, including a mandatory training for volunteers on Saturday, June 7, 2:00-4:30pm.
