What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Community School of Naples?
Community School of Naples (CSN) is currently seeking an experienced and qualified School Bus Driver reporting to Facilities Manager. This appointment is available as early as February 2025 or as late as August 2025. The driving schedule consists mostly of one morning school run, field trips and athletic trips at various times and, possibly, Saturdays. The schedule is usually prepared a week in advance to allow for ample planning. CSN is one campus, grades PK through 12 with over 1000 students.
As an independent school, CSN is not part of the Collier County Public School system. CSN does not have the resources to train or otherwise qualify school bus drivers. Therefore, the following Qualifications and Experience are required:
- A valid Florida Class B CDL with P (passenger) and Air Brakes endorsements.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one (1) year of school transportation experience is preferred; experience driving passenger buses will be considered.
- Experience working with children is strongly recommended.
Physical Demands/ Ability to
- Lift/ carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, sit and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, balance on a regular basis.
- Withstand outside weather conditions.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Detect and exchange accurate information.
- Have close visual acuity to perform essential functions of the job.
- Withstand a moderate noise level in the work environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The appointment is for a full-time position. Start date will be a week before the school year begins (usually on or around August 1). End date: last day of school (end of May). The number of hours is guaranteed at 30 hours per week; hours could be greater during busy athletic seasons. The successful candidate will be paid a competitive hourly rate between $19 and $22 based on experience and other related qualifications.
