Community School of Naples (CSN), an independent college preparatory school, is currently seeking a talented, collaborative and inspiring Middle School English teacher to start on August 6, 2025.
This position will include a teaching assignment of five classes a day with an average class size of 15 students and the opportunity to teach electives. It also entails advisory responsibilities to approximately a dozen students a year and close, collaborative work with other advisors on a grade-level team. The grade-team works together to manage and attend grade-specific program and student initiatives and issues throughout the school year.
The successful candidate will have background and expertise in content and competencies across Middle School English : reading, grammar, composition, literature, public speaking, cross-curricular lesson development, and differentiated instruction. A student-centered approach is expected. Previous experience working in an independent, college-preparatory school is preferred, and experience teaching honors sections will enhance consideration. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence; a verifiable, ongoing commitment to professional development; an ability to motivate and encourage middle school students; a facility with current teaching methodologies, instructional techniques and pedagogical principles; and the thoughtful integration of technology in the classroom.

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in English or education with an emphasis in language arts is required; Master’s preferred.
- At least three years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
- Prior independent school experience is preferred.
- Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to handle conversations with students, parents, and colleagues with tact, diplomacy and grace.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, high-stakes environment.
- Commitment to participating in professional organizations, conferences, subject-related competitions, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
This appointment is for the 2025 / 2026 academic year starting with orientation on August 6, 2025, and is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications.
