Community School of Naples (CSN) is currently seeking a talented, collaborative and inspiring Middle / Upper School Computer Science teacher starting on August 6, 2025. This is a growth position based on student enthusiasm surrounding our computer science, makerspace, and robotics courses.
The curriculum encompasses broad project-based activities (makerspace, engineering, and robotics) as well as specific technologies such as Arduino, RaspberryPI, VEX, Python, JavaScript, Java, Scratch, C , HTML, and CSS. Additionally, experience teaching AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and / or Theater Tech (lighting design, sound engineering, etc) is a definite plus, but not required. Other responsibilities may include serving as a faculty advisor and sponsoring student clubs.
CSN is one of the top independent schools in southwest Florida and maintains a PK3-12 school enrollment of over 1000 students. CSN has a high retention rate with many dedicated teachers here for longer than 10 years; some more than 30. CSN students track higher than all other southwest Florida schools in test scores, extracurricular activities, and college acceptances. Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s preferred.
- At least three years of teaching computer programming and possess the flexibility to deliver a variety of classes at the age-appropriate level (grades 6-12).
- Prior independent school experience is preferred.
- Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to handle conversations with students, parents, and colleagues with tact, diplomacy and grace.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet important deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, high-stakes environment.
- Commitment to participating in professional organizations, conferences, subject-related competitions, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
This appointment is for the 2025-26 academic year, starting with orientation on August 6, 2025, and is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications.
