What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time School Based Occupational Therapist / OT position at Community School of San Diego?
Seeking an ambitious, independent, and passionate full time Occupational Therapist to work in a school, located in sunny Ocean Beach California. It is a non-public school with 60 moderate / severe students who have 1 : 1 support. Class sizes are small and all of the teachers and support staff are absolutely wonderful to work with. The progress made by the students is truly amazing to see as all therapeutic intervention provided within the therapeutic setting is carried out by the staff throughout the students' day. The OT staff is further supported by two part time COTA's to assist with treatments and IEP preparation.
This job would require creativity, self-initiative, and teamwork as we have a dynamic multi-disciplinary approach. A strong background or love for sensory integration is a plus.
Half of the students' day is spent out in the community targeting functional academics, job readiness skills, and functional life skills. This specialty school allows for non-traditional and traditional therapeutic intervention. There are endless options when working at this school.

We are seeking an independent, ambitious, and passionate full time Occupational Therapist who specializes or has an interest in Autism and other developmental disabilities. Our program is in the community of Ocean Beach in San Diego, California (we are 3 blocks from the beach!). We are a non-public school with enrollment ranging from 35 to 50 students. We are currently seeking an O.T. to take over a caseload of 35 students and growing.
Our program is designed to serve and help each individual student succeed, with half of their days spent out in the community. Our dynamic multi-disciplinary approach, intimate classroom size, community support, and great location have helped our program grow consistently throughout the past 20 years.
This O.T. position collaborates with credentialed teachers, speech therapists, and BCBA's to promote student success in a caring and fun environment.
Our program follows a traditional academic school year calendar (September - June) with 7 additional weeks in the summer for our extended school year (July-Aug). This schedule offers 150 days of time off scattered throughout the year.
