Job Title: Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) Paraprofessional
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) Paraprofessional to support students in developing English proficiency and academic success. The ideal candidate will assist ELL students in the classroom, provide small-group or one-on-one instruction, and collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ELL students in acquiring English language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Assist teachers in modifying and adapting instructional materials to meet the needs of ELL students.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to reinforce classroom instruction.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages language development and student engagement.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and school staff.
- Assist with the implementation of language acquisition strategies and interventions.
- Support students in understanding academic content by using visual aids, gestures, and simplified language.
- Facilitate communication between ELL students, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other school activities as assigned.
- Participate in professional development and training related to ELL education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma with willingness to participate in additional training and professional development as needed.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
- Experience working with English language learners or in an educational setting preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of language acquisition principles and strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for supporting diverse learners.
