What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Programs - Adventure Program: Co-Director position at COMMUNITY SCHOOLS?
Program Goal: The Somerville Community Schools Program provides After School and Out of School Time Care in the Somerville Public Schools. We operate After School programs from dismissal until 5:30 pm including early release days; full day programs during school vacation weeks and during summer. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out of School Time Care to Somerville children in grades Pre-K through 8.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree preferred
- Evidence of five years of successful teaching/summer camp experience
- Demonstrated experience as an administrator or supervisor
- Ability to travel between programs daily if needed
Responsibilities (commencing March 2025):
- Supervise summer staff and all instructional activities
- Supervise the maintenance of attendance of students
- Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary
- Supervise the daily lunch and snack count and maintain supplies and equipment as well as proper distribution.
- Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff including bus transportation for field trips and off site activities.
- Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures
- Supervise office procedures, opening-and closing-day procedures for staff and campers.
- Assess all summer camp activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs
- One evening family night event during the last week of the program
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Community Schools Administrators

Out of Regular School/Work hours
Stipend $5500
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days:
May 28, June 17, and July 1, 2025 (may change)
Program Schedule:
July 7-August 8
8:15 to 4:15 Monday-Friday
Reports to: Out of School Time Director and Assistant Out of School Time Director
