Community Sciences Corporation has been in business since 1974 and has provided Land Surveying and other related services across the Southwest including: Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, and Oklahoma. Though we are located in the Village of Corrales, we are constantly working throughout the state providing a myriad of surveying services (ALTA, Boundary, Improvement, Topographic, As-built, Construction Layouts, GIS, Subdivision Mapping and more). Our clientele vary from Municipal Entities, Civil Engineers, Home Builders, Flood Authorities, Utilities, Residential-Commercial-Industrial clients. This diversity allows for well-rounded technicians as well as the opportunity for internal growth.
The Position & Requirements
The Survey Technician I is an entry level position in the specialty of Land Surveying. We are willing to train the right individual (previous applicable experience in surveying a positive). Responsibilities & Requirements are:
- Will work primarily in the field on control, topographic, & other surveys as Rodman of a two -person field crew in urban and/or remote areas.
- Maintain care of Surveying data collection instruments.
- Keep supply inventory levels of assigned field truck(s)
- Read and understands plans and specifications.
- Dig ground using a pick, shovel and other hand tools to search for and locate survey monuments.
- Drive grade stakes, rebar, nails into ground, wall or other surfaces.
- Lift/Carry up to 70 lbs; Walk / hike 5 miles daily; Outdoor work in year-round weather types.
- Must be able and willing to travel during work week. Occasional weekends may be required.
- Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
- Ability to work under assigned Crew Chief and assist Crew Chief as assigned.
- Typical work week is 7:00 am thru 4:00 pm. Overtime is time & a half.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing & able to pass a Background Check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License & the ability to be insured.
- Must speak English. Multi-lingual in Spanish is a positive.
- All other duties as assigned
