LOCATION : Treutlen County (Soperton, GA)
The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia's I / DD department is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Client Support Workers for our Treutlen County Group Homes! Our Client Support Workers serve individuals who are intellectually and developmentally differently abled in assisting with daily care needs. These needs may consist of daily, cleaning and learning needs to ensure everyone has the assistance that they need. The selected candidate will also be responsible for taking the individuals in the assigned home on different outings, shopping and different community events. The Client Support Workers will also be responsible for engaging with assigned families and their formal and informal supports to determine all needs and strengths. The Client Support Workers will coordinate with all involved to ensure the individuals progress moves in the right direction, everyone stays informed, and all needs are monitored and progress as needed.
Responsibilities of the Client Support Workers :
- Creating and maintaining effective relationships with intellectually and developmentally differently abled individuals and fellow staff members
- Observing and reporting changes in individuals
- Effectively resolve situations of conflict, manage aggressive behaviors and learn / utilize non-violent intervention and behavioral management
- Completes daily progress notes on the progress of individuals in care
- Remain up to date on community, social and health-related resources
- Keep work site clean and free of potentially hazardous debris
- Remain up to date on substance misuse and problems encountered by chemically dependent individuals, including the basic understanding of behavior management
- All other duties as assigned
