Personal Banker I (Increased Responsibility and Pay with PB II and PB III)
Role:
To assist members with their financial needs, performing a variety of duties that support branch operations.
Consistently provide an atmosphere of high-quality member service. Confidently supports credit union sales efforts and performs transactions for members regarding all share and loan products and services. Consults with members and provide solutions to match their needs. Responsible for adhering to all credit union policies, procedures, and deadlines and all applicable federal regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments. Performs all transactions with a high degree of accuracy and in accordance with established credit union policies and procedures and federal regulations.
Welcome all credit union visitors and direct them to the appropriate area. Promote credit union products and services based on member needs as determined from member interviews. Maintain a current knowledge of all credit union's services and policies. Cross-sell services offered at the credit union.
Assist members with opening and closing accounts. Enroll member in credit union programs and services, providing information, guidance and demonstration on products selected. Prepare and ensure all documents are complete and accurate for signing. Ensure member information is accurate and provide maintenance on accounts inside core processor.
Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties related to member accounts including but not limited to member correspondence, instant issue debit cards, computer input, file maintenance, and telephone.
Performs other job related duties as assigned
Performance Measurements:
1. Provide prompt, professional, and appropriate service and support to all members, prospective members, and associates.
2. Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of all products and financial services offered by the credit union.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve member inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Follow up on tickets by making contact with the member no less than the same business day. Document and update the ticket.
4. Accurately process all transactions as specified on the member transaction request form or other supporting documentation.
5. Effectively cross-sell financial products and services in conjunction with processing transactions.
6. Understand and apply regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable in the role of a Personal Banker ensuring that all department activities are compliant.
7. Complete all assigned staff training assignments in a timely manner.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Six months to two years of similar or related experience desired.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills Excellent analytical skills, people skills and self-direction. Proficiency with computer equipment, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Physical Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking,
Requirements standing and lifting and/or carrying ten pounds maximum.
Work Environment Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
