JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the repairs, installations, and upkeep of Community Services Agency (CSA) facilities including Head Start and Early Head Start and CSA Administration buildings. Supervisor will have general knowledge of the care, operation, and overall repair and maintenance of the sites, grounds upkeep, and the procurement of contracted services such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising maintenance personnel onsite while reporting to the Assistant Director of Head Start. Previous supervisory experience and contract procurement is a requirement for the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain an ongoing list of projects and plan a daily/weekly/monthly work cycle of those projects to ensure completion in a timely fashion;
2. Procures and oversees contracts and contracted services that pertain to the maintenance of all locations and grounds;
3. Reliable and adaptable to changing schedules due to emergencies;
4. Train and supervise maintenance technicians;
5. Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and sanitary conditions;
6. Ensure that all work orders are professionally completed on time and that all work orders are correctly recorded in Child Plus software tool;
7. Maintain an inventory control of all CSA tools and ensure all equipment and tools are properly and safely stored.
Complete purchase orders and check requests for any additional needed tools or equipment;
8. Apply strong knowledge of all building operating systems such as HVAC, security and sprinkler systems, fire alarms, plumbing, heating, electrical and any other related building setup;
9. Monitor and address pest control at sites as needed;
10. Delivers inventory and materials to Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms;
11. Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up rooms for meetings and special events;
12. Inspects buildings, grounds and equipment to identify maintenance, repair and replacement needs; reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards;
13. Oversees operation of mechanical and power equipment utilized in the maintenance of the sites;
14. Research, contact, and collaborate with 3 rd party vendors for execution of additional maintenance work such as plumbing, roofing, snow removal, electrical work, mechanical work or any major maintenance repairs;
15. Implement and abide by workplace safety policies and standards;
16. Oversees other duties as needed and assigned by program Directors;

Skills:
Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
Good communication; In-person, via mobile and email.
Good customer service skills: Responsible for proactively addressing Head Start, Early Head Start and CSA customer needs and ensuring they are met in a timely manner; Attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills;
Good organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks;
Assess and analyze repair needs and determine appropriate course for completion; Various tools: How to use them safely and properly store them;
Knowledge:
Contract procurement and managing contracted services/vendor experience.
Computer knowledge: Ability to complete timecards and utilize Child Plus software tool for maintenance work order requests;
Health and Safety policy and procedures and protocols;
Ability to:
Apply basic knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, and patching;
Travel to multi-sites to perform maintenance functions;
Respond appropriately and promptly to emergency requests;
Learn, interpret and apply administrative and program policies, rules and regulations;
Understand and follow directions, both oral and written;
Support locations during winter weather advisories; Oversee and assist at times in clearing walkways, preparing driveways and parking lots, as well as playgrounds, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
A minimum of High School or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of up to two (2) years in a maintenance position
Preferred:
HVAC Certifications or Operation of maintenance equipment such as; shop vac, electrical saws, leaf blowers, etc. Maintenance experience within a school environment, two (2) years of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, HVAC and/or technical disciplines (No journeyman licensure/certification required)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear. Must have the ability to operate various maintenance equipment. The duties of this position may include working in environment where there are young children ages 0-5 years of age present. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Good physical health is necessary. The applicant must be able to perform the following physical activities which include but are not limited to;
Ascending and descending ladders safely.
Pull/Push at least forty (50) pounds.
Lift up to (35) pounds; over 35 lbs. require a team-person lift.
Perform physical movement activities: running and walking quickly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in multisite environments where exposure to sunlight, rain, snow and/or other outside weather elements exists and operates inside professional offices. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment including power equipment and/or tools including office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
