CSET's Sequoia Community Corps Case Management Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide case management to trainees in the Back2Work program. The right candidate will be able to work in a high-functioning environment with a diverse population. The Case Management team is responsible for processing program eligibility, enrollments, exits, follow-ups, etc. They will assist trainees with transitional job services, resources, and in assisting them with finding unsubsidized employment. Strong communication, writing, time management, and comprehension skills are a must. Must be able to work with little to no supervision.

SCOPE OF WORK :

The purpose of this position is to provide residents with vocational counseling and career planning assistance. The incumbent of this position is responsible to recruit potential customers or employers, provide outreach in low-income communities as well as determine program eligibility and enrollment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about individuals through records, tests, interviews and professional sources, to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities and personal characteristics for vocational planning
  • Maintains case management files, documents contact with customers, employers, school staff and other partners and provide all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Monitors and maintains program enrollments to ensure full crews and robust list of potential candidates
  • Maintains attendance and safety records
  • Maintains inventory of safety equipment, uniforms, and program field supplies
  • Prepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, memos and emails
  • Serves as a customer liaison responding to customer problems, questions or concerns and coordinates with the proper agency personnel to provide timely and accurate answers for the customers
  • Follow-up with customers and agencies as appropriate to document use / success of referral
  • Provides documentation to partnering agencies
  • Inputs accurate and complete data for all contacts with customers into agency database
  • Facilitates one-to-one counseling, case management, orientations and workshops to assist in preparation for job readiness, assist with resume building and help participants navigate labor market
  • Travel to local one-stop centers, partner sites, etc. to meet with trainees and or market our programs
  • Provide support and coverage for outer offices when needed
  • Remains updated on occupational and local labor market information, program requirements, and regulations affecting participants and employers
  • Refers customers to other program resources as applicable
  • Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic information to aid in making and carrying out vocational and educational objectives
  • Participates in outreach events and meetings with partner agencies
  • Participates in training and professional development to build required knowledge for the position
  • Performs other duties including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures

  • Provide exceptional customer service for individuals from various backgrounds that includes efficient, precise, and courteous communication in a dignified environment
  • Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers, co-workers, members of other agencies and the general public
  • Ability to deal with customers in a calm, professional, friendly and patient manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and work with different types of personalities
  • Knowledgeable of modern office procedures and methods, is proficient in use of computer, Windows operating system including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access) and program database
  • Possess communication skills, research abilities, flexibility and an ability to work well with others
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Knowledge of local labor market and employer expectations
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the various company programs and the ability to communicate policy information in a clear and detailed manner
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal / no supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form

  • Must be able to exert physical effort in light to moderate work involving lifting, carrying, pushing,and pulling
  • Must be able to read, understand, and explain various forms and written material
  • Must maintain a clean DMV record and be eligible to be added to and remain on the agency's vehicle insurance.
