Community Services for Children is looking for a Community Outreach Specialist to join the Community Initiatives and Advancement team. The Community Outreach Specialist provides friendly support and community resources to families of young children seeking to enhance their children’s healthy development. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide effective customer service and community resources to families of young children seeking information and support that will enhance their children’s healthy development; Specifically in Census Tracts 18 & 20 in Allentown to build relationships with families and ensure they have access to high quality early learning, health, and other family services
- Complete the Flourishing Neighborhood Index Surveys with residents in census tracts 18 & 20 in Allentown to better understand the needs of the neighborhood and community members
- Assist with the Uplift After-School Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 330pm-6pm. This includes but is not limited to- helping to create curriculum/activities, managing food, and attending the program
- Accomplish program processes in a timely manner, maintain stated timelines, and update status elements to ensure compliance with regulations and performance standards
- Attend various community meetings as needed or in the absence of Assistant Director of Community Initiatives
- Participate in community outreach to promote Community Services for Children and Families First in Franklin Park, including attending weekly outreach at health clinics and other community events
- Assist the Community Initiatives and Advancement Department with events- Project Child Forums, Golf Tournament, Wellness and Safety Fair, Employee Appreciation Event, and our Annual Donley Awards and Gala
- Assist CIA team with occasional administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree required in Social Work, Human Services, Early Learning, or related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Proficient with using databases, software, record tracking systems, and other technology
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated competency in customer service
- Valid driver’s license and full-time use of vehicle
- Ability to walk stairs, lift and carry 25 pounds to assist children as needed, and to move equipment and materials
