Community Services for Children is hiring a Preschool STEAM Coach to help shape the future of early education! The STEAM Coach will provide exciting opportunities for children to apply science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts that nurture a broader understanding of classroom lessons, as well as the world around them. Incorporating experiential learning across a variety of modalities, our coach will have access to our state-of-the-art facility and introduce emerging technology. *This unique opportunity is available as a full-time role but there is flexibility to accommodate a part-time schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create an innovative STEAM environment and encourage hands-on learning for our preschool students
- Design and implement intentionally planned STEAM activities to foster curiosity and learning
- Drive exploration by incorporating tools like circuit building kits, magnifiers, simple machines, robots, and 3-D printers and by introducing opportunities to enhance collaboration and problem solving
- Introduce new technologies, techniques, and tools into the learning experience
- Collaborate with teachers to infuse learning and curriculum objectives into lesson planning to promote the connection of knowledge to experience
- Provide a positive environment that encourages and guides hands-on learning for each class
Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in education, early education, or similar
- Experience implementing STEAM concepts that engage early learners
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to teach in a classroom environment
- Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills
- English/Spanish bi-lingual a plus
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs. in order to assist children as needed and to move equipment and materials
