What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications and Design Specialist position at COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR EVERY1 INC?
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, coordinates, and implements outreach strategies through community education and media relations.
Develops and prepares marketing, event and communication materials i.e. brochures, newsletters, fliers. Assists with the production of various marketing and communication projects through coordination with internal agency personnel and vendors.
Assist in maintaining the agency contact list, including vendors, donors, business partners, other agencies, etc.
Maintains the agency website, ensuring that the information promotes current events, highlights services, and projects an overall positive image of the agency. Works closely with the web consultant for updates and improvements to website.
Assist with coordinating internal events such as Open Houses, Ribbon Cuttings, and other potential media events.
Attends internal events to take photos and promote agency activities and events.
Creates graphics for external use to promote the agency, highlight programs and services, solicit events and fundraisers, and to promote overall community awareness and education.
1. Education and Experience
a. Associate Degree and one (1) year related experience OR Bachelor Degree required.
2. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
a. Awareness of community based services and programs.
b. Strong written and oral communication skills.
c. Solid organizational skills.
d. Above-average computer skills, including graphic design capabilities and desktop publishing.
e. Skilled at creating and developing online communication including agency website and social media outlets
f. Flexibility with strong time management skills.
