Community Solutions is seeking a dedicated licensed Clinician to join our team at our Coventry House location in Coventry, RI. In this role, the Clinician is responsible for the screening, assessment, intake, case management, individual, family, and group therapy to support the youth’s mental health needs and stability. They will work collaboratively with program leadership to establish a program culture that actively supports the boys in achieving goals set forth in their individualized treatment plans. The Clinician regularly collaborates with the program and agency leadership team, families, schools, DCYF Social Workers, Probation Officers, and others as appropriate. The Clinician will be responsible for developing and facilitating discharge planning and will work collaboratively with community supports to ensure successful community reengagement. The selected candidate will ensure that the tenets of strengths-based, relational, trauma-informed, gender responsive and culturally competent approaches are maintained within the program and services offered and will perform all related duties assigned by the Program Director.
Starting wage: $70,000 (licensed) starting salary

Position Overview
- Leads the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Offers consultation to staff regarding the use of creative approaches to dealing with challenging behaviors, accessing supportive services, and clinical care. Maintains caseload of up to 8 youth and facilitates duties related to intake, screening and assessment, clinical treatment, and service and discharge planning with a focus on successful reintegration with the family.
- Related duties include:
- Participates in determining appropriate referrals and engaging with youth during intake.
- Aids in the selection of appropriate assessments and screening tools.
- Facilitates individual screening and/or assessments, analyzes results and provides feedback to residents and information to leadership team.
- Develops individualized treatment and discharge plans collaboratively with each resident.
- Actively collaborates with families, schools, DCYF Social Worker, Probation Office, and all providers serving residents.
- Completes logs, reports, and data entry as required/requested.
- Acts as the primary contact for the referral source and families.
- May occasionally attend court or other client-related appointments.
- Provides transportation to youth and families as programmatic needs dictate.
- Maintains ongoing communication with providers, ensuring proper planning two months prior to discharge.
- Collaborates with client on home pass goals.
- Sends home pass approvals to probation and/or DCYF and assigns staff to transport from home passes.
- Ensures Basic needs screen and home assessment is completed with parent at screening and obtains original identification documents.
- Connects youth to community resources.
- Meets with youth once weekly and completes progress notes weekly on all clients and groups.
- Initiates regular, individual therapy sessions with residents that focus on resident needs. This may include behavioral difficulties, substance use, reconnection with committed adults, and/or prepares the youth for their transition home.
- Works with staff to ensure that they have the skills to support and reinforce clinical interventions.
- Brokers services in the community, as needed.
- Aids in the selection of group offerings, plans regular groups/services, and assists in facilitating groups as needed.
- Plans and facilitates service team meetings and other meetings with families, DCYF, probation, the youth and other providers.
- Ensures needed mental health services are in place as youth transition home.
- Provides family therapy and group therapy for all residents as needed.
- Provides psychotropic medication education to youth and families as needed.
- Assists in the development and implementation of program monitoring, evaluation and research.
- Completes all documentation and maintains client files to ensure all records align with required standards.
- Completes incident reports, as required.
- Collaborates with program leaders to provide guidance and direction to program staff and works with them to identify any gaps in services and areas in need of improvement.
- Ensures that strengths based, gender responsive, relational, trauma informed, and culturally competent approaches are sustained in the program and services offered.
- Provides emergency crisis interventions in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the residents and their families according to the agency's policy and HIPAA.
- Provides appropriate role modeling for staff and residents at all times, including dress, managing personal emotions, behavior, etc.
- Reinforces and role models emotionally and physically safe behaviors for staff and residents.
- Participates in all meetings as required; leads meetings as directed.
- Responsible for being on call monthly for programmatic needs and to support staff with coaching behavioral intervention and crisis de-escalation when necessary.
- Performs all other assigned, related or required duties.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Master’s degree is required.
- Licensed LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LICSW or state equivalent, with previous experience working with adolescents.
- Trauma-treatment knowledge and direct service experience preferred.
- Possess knowledge of and adherence to standards of confidentiality, and if applicable Department of Public Health, DCYF, Medicare/Medicaid and Managed Care.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
