Maintenance C-Class / Helper C Janitor Overview
Now hiring for two (2) positions, 2nd shift and 3rd shift
The Helper C will monitor, clean and maintain the building, common areas, recreational facilities and grounds as assigned.
The C-helper will need to:
o Understand and properly use household and industrial cleaning agents and chemicals
o Understand and know how to properly use cleaning equipment and tools
o Perform emergency maintenance repairs to units, buildings and common areas as required
o Maintain the property to the highest possible standard of cleanliness
o Perform all assigned duties in a good workmanlike manner.
This position has four available 8-hour shifts throughout the day. Training through the SEIU Local 1 is not required for initial hiring, but must be completed within the first 18 months of employment.
REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer / Assistant Engineer / Property Manager
EXPERIENCE NEEDED: One-year janitorial experience in residential housing complex, office building or health care facility.
PERFORMANCE SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of household & industrial cleaning chemicals.
2. Knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment
3. Ability to move a fully loaded 1-yard trash compactor container (estimated weight 600 lbs).
4. Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding and work overhead.
5. Able to bend or kneel to work at floor level.
6. Knowledge of commercial cleaning schedules and procedures.
7. Ability to read, write, speak & understand English language.
8. Basic knowledge of building systems.
BACKGROUND CHECK: Employment requires a pre-employment background check. Employment also requires a pre-employment drug screening test.

TRAINING: Class C Local 1 Employees must complete the 10-week class course offered by SEIU, Local 1 Training Center within 18 months of employment, enrollment is required within 6 months of employment.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
