TITLE: Commercial Associate I
DEPARTMENT: Credit Administration
PAY GRADE & FLSA: 5, Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Commercial Associate I is primarily responsible for performing loan processing, create commercial loan documentation, and servicing responsibilities associated with the bank’s commercial loan portfolio. Commercial Associates will work closely with commercial compliance issues.
Essential Functions
Work directly with designated Credit Analysis, Portfolio Manager and Commercial Loan Officer in a team environment. Can be redirected as needed by workflow.
Prepare documents accurately for new and renewal loan closings. Create and maintain accurate commercial loan files and properly execute imaging procedures.
Follow-up to ensure proper recording of liens, prepare mortgage releases in satisfaction of loans, abstracting, and mortgage filing.
Forward UCC and lien requests to the appropriate offices (county, state, etc.) and verify UCC position, proper corporate names, and articles of incorporation/organization.
Review files after closing to ensure that all documents are signed and checks prepared for disbursement, advance loans, send payoffs, pay invoices and other post close duties.
Check posted loans from previous day for accuracy and completeness.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with bank customers.
Receive and answer telephone and in-person inquiries from commercial loan customers, regarding loan requests, etc. or forward inquiries to the party best able to respond to the customer.
Adhere to regulations for commercial loan compliance, HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act), CRA (Community Reinvestment Act), Flood Determination guidelines, Bank loan policy and procedures and all lending regulations.
Comply with both the letter of the law and the spirit of the law regarding the Bank Secrecy Act Policy/Program and Procedures.
Participation in community activities is encouraged. This involvement can include professional, civic and community groups.
Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.
Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or an equivalent of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ bank operations or retail banking knowledge or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Capability to utilize various banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal, verbal written and presentation skills.
Capability to work and collaborate with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and professional manner.
Strong organizational and time management skills with capability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Capability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Working Conditions
Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
Ability to occasionally travel to customer locations and other bank locations for training or meetings.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
