This is a fully in-person position located in Akron, Ohio.
The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a Programmer/Analyst II to join our Information Systems Team. This individual will perform tasks related to a variety of analytical and programming assignments that provide for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business analytic systems, automated data application programs, application systems, reporting systems, and operating systems software within network and client-server environments. The Programmer/Analyst II will work closely with other members of the Information Systems department to develop and test software application functionality in the organization information systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the design, coding, and testing of business analytic reporting, software systems and applications to achieve agency information systems objectives.
- Apply systems development and agile development processes methodology to generate prototype web and application software.
- Encode project requirements by converting workflow information into computer language.
- Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
- Confirm program operation by conducting tests and corrects errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.
- Work within project and development plans and resources to produce results within project goals and expected timeframes
- Assist in the revision, repair, or expansion of existing business analytic and software applications to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Adhere to coding and documentation standards defined by the Director of Information Technology.
- Under supervision of the Director of Information Technology, assist in the maintenance of on-premises SQL database instances, including monitoring of system health to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
- Maintain agency client and employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Establish responsible deadlines and personal work plans.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- This position is in-office, full-time (40 hours a week) working normal business hours.
What We’re Looking For:
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer programming, systems analysis, or mathematics preferred.
- Possession of an associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or computer programming will be considered with a minimum of four years’ experience in computer programming. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of an associate’s degree.
- Additional certifications in computer programming and/or computer system security preferred.
- Ability to uses computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Ability to write advanced and high-level computer programs for various purposes.
- Skilled in the .NET Framework with extensive knowledge of the C# and ASP.NET languages. Skills in the Transact SQL database programming language query development, stored procedures, and functions. Skilled in development and implementation of software applications in client-server systems. Skilled in the development and implementation of web-based software in a client-server system. An understanding of Object-Oriented programming and design. Skilled in the utilization of JavaScript and XML with cross-browser compatibility techniques.
