Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, rehabilitation services, special education, early childhood education, secondary education, family and consumer sciences, criminal justice, or human growth and development. This position involves working closely with patients to assist in their care, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Mental Health Technician will work under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals and contribute to the therapeutic environment.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring patients' behavior and emotional well-being.
- Assist in crisis management and intervention strategies to ensure patient safety.
- Collect and document data on patient progress and behavior for treatment planning.
- Implement applied behavior analysis techniques to support patients in achieving their goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
- Engage with children and adolescents, utilizing special education techniques as needed.
- Offer support in addiction counseling for patients dealing with substance use issues.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate patient needs.
- Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions within the facility.
Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience or training in mental health support roles. Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in patient care settings, particularly with individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Knowledge of crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with data collection methods related to patient care.
- Background in applied behavior analysis or special education is advantageous.
- Experience working with children or adolescents is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.88 - $23.40 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
