What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Direct Support Professional position at Community Support Services of Missouri?
This is a seasonal position working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals may be behaviorally challenged.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain personal care and provide physical assistance for individuals.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the camp participants.
Supervise and facilitate camp participants community participation and integration.
Provide positive verbal reassurance, reinforcement, and encouragement to campers in all situations.

Resourceful in accomplishing tasks and directives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.) required for care of individuals for performing job functions such as transferring frequently.
The ability to bend, twist, stoop and kneel to perform the essential functions of the Group Leader frequently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants with one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities are preferred. Group Advocate will have or acquire First Aid/ CPR certification.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as proof of current auto insurance will be required if job duties mandate this job function. This position may require driving for business and transportation of individuals served.
