The Opportunity :
We are seeking to hire a Health Information Systems Assistant to join our Health Information Services Team. This individual will work with our medical records, retrieving, filing, and managing the hybrid clinical record (paper and electronic) by using a computerized and / or manual chart check-out system. The HIS Assistant assures the implementation of health privacy laws and regulations while responding to external and internal requests for information.What You'll Do : Assure the line of custody, accuracy, and completeness of health records.Maintain current and accurate records through the use of computers and / or other documentation in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards and regulations.Ensure paper records are properly assembled, coded, signed, indexed, etc before scanning and filing.Answer phone calls to address record submission needs in order to support patient care.File documents and patient records in a timely manner and in appropriate locations to ensure an efficient system of document retrieval and storage.Ensure that incomplete records and charts are returned to the appropriate personnel for completion.Ensure established policies and procedures for medical records maintenance and security are followed by all personnel.Interact with management, physicians, and staff by obtaining and communicating essential data and assisting other team members to coordinate efficient transactions of patient-related documents.This position is full-time (40 hours a week) working normal business hours.About Us : For over 35 years, Community Support Services has been making a difference in the lives of countless individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
