CUSD 201 is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the principal position at Manning Elementary School For the 2025-26 school year. We are seeking a compassionate, people-centered instructional leader who is versed in professional learning community concepts.

Description : Principal - Elementary School 2nd - 5th grade,

Application deadline : February 21, 2025

Start date : July 1, 2025 (12 month contract)

Salary : regionally competitive

QUALIFIED CANDIDATE SHOULD :

Hold a Current Illinois Professional Educator License with an Administrative Endorsement
Have knowledge of the Illinois Learning Standards
Be an instructional leader
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Have knowledge or experience related to Professional Learning Communities
Demonstrate commitment to student achievement and school improvement
Demonstrate a dedication to supporting students academically and socially
Possess quality leadership skills
Have an understanding of how to meet the needs of a diverse student population
Have strong interpersonal skills
Possess quality management and organizational skills
Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development

Duties include :

Aligns the educational programs, plans, and actions to the district's vision and goals for student learning

Uses appropriate data to set priorities and establish high, concrete goals in the context of improving student achievement.

Articulates and promotes high expectations for teaching and student learning.

Acts as a driving force behind major initiatives.

Provides leadership for establishing a professional learning community that focuses on continuous improvement.

Articulates and fosters a positive school culture

Facilitates collaboration with all key stakeholders

Consistently maintains quality interaction with teachers, students, parents, and the larger community

Evaluates staff and provides ongoing coaching for improvement

Consistently and fairly recognizes and celebrates accomplishments of teachers, staff, and students

Designs, manages, and monitors operational procedures in an ethical and efficient manner to maximize opportunities for student learning.

Complies with state and federal mandates, local board policies, and collective bargaining contracts.

Ensures the safety and security of staff and students.

Demonstrates that visibility, involvement, and communication with the larger community are priorities.

Models multi-cultural awareness, gender sensitivity, community collaboration, and racial and ethnic appreciation.

Other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
