What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Therapist (part-time) position at Community Violence Intervention Center?
Youth Therapist – part time
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling and North Dakota license as a LMSW or LAPC. A clinical license (North Dakota) as a LCSW or LPCC is preferred. Experience working with children and victims of violence, and training in evidence-based therapies to address trauma preferred. Availability to work 5-10 hours per week. If traveling to local and county schools, applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to personal transportation. Mileage for travel to schools will be reimbursed.
COMPENSATION: Hourly rate is $21.85-$36.42 for LMSW or LAPC/LPC and $25.84-$43.06 for Clinical license (LCSW or LPCC). This is a non-benefited position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual and Group Therapy
- Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to youth, ages 2-18, who have experienced domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault/abuse, stalking and/or bullying.
- Follow-up with non-abusing parents whose children are on CVIC’s therapy waitlists to arrange for services.
- Provide individual therapy to youth, in conjunction with their non-abusing parent, at CVIC’s main office.
- If working during school hours, may provide individual therapy to youth at their school.
- Obtain training in providing distance counseling and provide individual therapy to victims via telehealth when needed.
Individual Advocacy and Referrals
- Provide information and parenting support to non-abusing caregivers whose youth have experienced violence.
- Become knowledgeable of other related agencies and services and provide youth victims and their non-abusing caregivers with appropriate referral information and support in accessing safety net services.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to assist with referrals to our services, helping youth and their families overcome barriers to receiving services as needed and available.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of all contacts with youth clients, non-abusing caregivers, and other agencies according to established procedures.
- Distribute and collect surveys from youth participating in individual and group therapy, and their caregivers, according to established procedures.
Supervision
- Schedule and participate in supervision with director of youth therapy every other week, or more as needed.
