Position Title: Dispensary Technician
Reports To: Senior Director of Dispensing Services
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Position Summary: The Dispensary Technician is a key member of the CVIM Dispensary and the CVIM Medical Team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the technician is responsible for preparing medications by accurately measuring, counting, packaging, and labeling prescriptions, managing inventory, and communicating with patients while ensuring compliance with all dispensary policies and protocols.
Recommended Skills/Experience:
- High school graduate or GED-equivalent
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician
- Bilingual (English, Spanish)
- Ability to work in multiple software systems
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to travel to microsites
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and labeling medications for patients
- Checking in and shelving received goods
- Patient communications via CareMessage, phone calls, and clinic engagement
- Administrative tasks including maintaining records for medication transport and pick up, printing refill requests, and retrieving refill request voicemails
- Clinical tasks such as prescription order transmission and clarification between providers and dispensary and medication therapy management assistance
- Training of volunteer technicians and students
