Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 10:00am-8:00pm

 

Position Concept: Associate Residential Managers will have oversight responsibilities, including assistance with staff coverage/scheduling, DSP training and supervision, and assistance with medical appointments. Both positions will serve as Residential Manager On-Call during scheduled work hours and will be responsible for operations of multiple IRAs, including ensuring individuals receive quality care via the planning, and delivery of individual services. 

 

  1. Actively cooperate with the President and other staff in a   joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of CWI.
  2. Supervise the implementation of the IRA Residential Habilitation Plan for each consumer by
    1. developing positive working relationships with consumers, their family members, friends and advocates to promote positive life experiences consistent with their individual values.
    2. working with the Residential Manager to develop individual consumer objectives for Residential Service Plans based on individual evaluation with consultation from the Individual Service Team;
    3. directly supervising and implementing the ISP and IRA Residential Habilitation Plan for each consumer, ensuring the integration of services, recording progress and contributing to periodic reviews;
    4. working in conjunction with the interdisciplinary teams of each consumer in order to coordinate necessary transportation, care and services.
    5. promoting quality community inclusion activities that contribute to consumer growth and independence via meaningful social, recreational, leisure and other activities.
  3. Spend a majority of time on site at assigned IRA(s) when consumer(s) are home, in direct interaction or observation of consumers and supervision of Residential Assistants.
    1. Such interaction with consumers may include, but is not limited to lifting, repositioning, assisting in ambulating, execution of exercise programs, physical intervention in behavior programs/crisis, and first aid/CPR.
    2. Assist consumers displaying deficits in the areas of self-help, socialization and adaptive skills, which may include toileting, bathing, dressing, dining and use of leisure time.
  4. Work in concert with the Residential Manager to maintain a safe, healthy and well maintained home and vehicle(s), ensuring they are adequate for the health and safety of all persons. To that end, the Associate Residential Manager will implement
    1. overall maintenance and operation of the premises to meet or exceed all regulatory and Fire Safety policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, maintaining current Fire Evacuation Plans and ensuring that all staff are trained in their execution; practicing, documenting and following up monthly emergency evacuation drills; communicating repair requests to appropriate sources in a timely fashion;
    2. ongoing maintenance of vehicle(s), ensuring that they comply with all regulations/ safety codes, and are regularly serviced;
    3. day-to-day operation of assigned services and site(s), including but not limited to matters of personnel, provision of services, finances, and consumer choice;
    4. supervision of budget implementation associated with assigned IRA(s), including monitoring inventory, shopping and purchases;
    5. planning and/ or monitoring of healthy lifestyle choices with consumers, including planning, provision and preparation of nutritious, well-balanced meals and developing community-based opportunities for integrated consumer recreation.
  5. With the support of the Residential Manager, ensure safe staffing in each assigned IRA, including, but not limited to,
    1. maintaining staffing schedule in response to the programmatic needs of the IRA,
    2. actively participating in the screening, interviewing, hiring and training of direct care staff.
    3. training, supervising, evaluating and disciplining staff,
    4. scheduling and training relief staff for quality delivery of services.
    5. providing direct care to consumers as needed and in support of Residential Assistants
  6. Participate in the hiring process for Residential DSPs Assistants, and make effective recommendations for hiring decisions of those individuals. Be responsible for direct supervision and evaluation of direct care staff (Residential Assistants) through staff development, mentoring, and conducting of on-going performance appraisal, inclusive of planning and documenting on-site orientation.
  7. In concert with the Residential Manager, maintain and monitor all recordkeeping to insure compliance with agency standards and consumer needs
    1. specific to management of consumer funds, petty cash and in-house funds, including maintaining associated ledgers and individual Personal Expenditure Plans and
    2. specific to plans and documents associated with consumer care, protection, personal development and service delivery as required by existing regulations.
  8. Make effective recommendations regarding the discipline, including termination, of Residential Assistants.
  9. Participate in collective bargaining by making effective recommendations regarding new provisions and modification of existing provisions in the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding the residential program.
  10. Work in conjunction with the Residential Manager to be responsible for the implementation of Plans of Corrective Action (POCA) as needed.
  11. Provide input and data to the Residential Manager for development of annual IRA budgets and overseeing implementation of same.
  1. Take part in any professional development training as requested/ assigned.
  2. Provide coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, etc. of direct care staff as needed.
  3. Participate in Residential On-Call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage and response in support of the Residential program.
  4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Residential Manager and/ or Residential Services Director.
  5. Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/ CEO.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

The minimum qualifications will be a High School Diploma with 2 Years’ experience working with the people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.,  Must be capable of handling all position responsibilities outlined in the job description, including leadership role, scheduling, problem solving, direct care, and accountability for quality service provisions.  Must also have acceptable driving record.
