Our Springfield YMCA is hiring a Part-Time Gymnastics Coach.
Gymnastics or Cheerleading background is required. Classes to be held Tuesdays at 330pm-5pm.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Plan, direct and implement safe, quality Youth & Family classes as scheduled. Must have thorough knowledge of course content, curriculum and enjoy working with children. This position will be expected to follow the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility in every duty associated with the YMCA. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Assists with planning, directing, and implementing Youth Program Activities.
2. Reinforce children’s actions in a positive manner to promote safety and health self-images.
3. Builds effective, authentic relationships with participants and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement.
4. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
5. Completes accident / incident reports as necessary.
6. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
7. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
8. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
9. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times (in accordance with the CYEDC dress code policy.)
10. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Minimum 15 years of age.
2. Experience with youth programs.
3. Certifications : American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR / AED, and First Aid within 15 days of hire.
4. Completion of required trainings.
5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
2. Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
3. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.
