The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester is a charitable, not-for-profit organization serving 66 zip codes in Putnam and Westchester counties. The YMCA of CNW is committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are looking for a committed UPK Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators.
The UPK Assistant Teacher is responsible for the delivery of a safe and developmentally high-quality UPK educational experience for the children. This is a ten-month, seasonal position.
UPK Assistant Teacher Job Duties:
- Assist the UPK Teacher in all daily preschool program activities, including academic enrichment, physical activity, arts & crafts, and more.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all children while supervising and maintaining licensing regulations.
- Be a positive role model for the children in the classroom
- Foster the four YMCA character values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty within the program participants.
- Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical situations and emergency procedures.

UPK Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pursuing Bachelor's and or Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Child Development Certificate (CDA) in Preschool
- Excellent Customer Service, interpersonal and communications skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.75 - $18.00 per hour
