What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Parent Educator position at Community Youth Services?
Community Youth Services is recruiting for Bilingual Parent Educator. A certified Parent Educator implements the Parents as Teachers model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well-being in their work with families. Utilizing the Parents as Teachers Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, the Parent Educator will facilitate and reflect with families during in person home visits, virtual visits, and using telecommunication.
Starting pay is $22.60 to $28.98 per hour. (Non-exempt) (Fulltime)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field is preferred. Three years’ experience is accepted in lieu of education. Experience must be directly working with young children and families is an education or related setting.
- The Parent Educator must complete the required Foundational and Model Implementation Trainings upon hire prior to working with participants.
- Valid TB test results must be completed within the previous 12 months prior to hire and must be presented to the Human Resources Department before being allowed to work with participants.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engages in recruitment activities.
- Completes a variety of initial and annual assessments with all enrolled parent/guardians.
- Develops, monitors and reviews goals with each family.
- Provides personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development centered parenting and family well-being (including planning, delivering, and documenting the visit).
- Uses the PAT Foundational curriculum to share research-based information with families.
- Provides in person and virtual group connections to give families an opportunity to build social connections with each other, engage in parent-child interaction activities, and increase their knowledge of ways to support children’s development.
- Completes initial and annual child developmental screenings and health reviews for each enrolled child.
- Connects families to resources that help them reach their goals and address their needs.
- Help parents and children connect to and/or transition to other services as needed; including but not limited to preschool or kindergarten.
- Maintains and submits all required family and program documentation in a timely manner.
- Organizes and inventories supplies/materials.
- Participation in continuous quality improvement activities.
