What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at COMMWELL HEALTH?
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible for the initial work-up and triaging of the patients either walk-ins or appointments. This includes taking vital signs, obtaining heights and weights and obtaining CLIA waived tests as ordered and document results accurately in the EHR.
- Collects and documents patient data, reports to Licensed Nurse or Provider for review.
- Does not independently perform any assessments or treatment of patients.
- Assists in preparing the patient for examination by medical staff, assists during the examination as needed.
- Assists in cleaning and sterilizing instruments, if applicable after use in the clinic according to manufacturers instructions.
- Assists in the general maintenance and disinfection of the patient examination rooms, work-up area and equipment.
- Participates in continuing education seminars on and off-site as feasible.
- Participates in staff meetings and huddles.
- Participates in other related activities affecting the clinic program, such as health fairs.
- Assists with venipuncture, if competencies are completed, audiometry exams, EKG's, Snellen's and any other tasks assigned by the licensed nurse.
- Carries out proper procedure for basic life support, fire, disaster, and infection control.
- Documents an accurate and relevant record of patient's care.
- Maintains communication with providers.
- Adheres to and enforces health center policies and procedures relating to the safety of patients and employees.
- Assist with closing clinical gaps in care and ensure consistent continuity of care.
