Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is the person responsible for the visual design and production of projects across COMO Companies marketing, publication and internal teams. This person works alongside the Senior Designer to produce high-quality work that fulfills client objectives and adapts to various brand guidelines, while efficiently managing deliverables and meeting deadlines. The Graphic Designer position reports to the Columbia location but may travel to different areas for photoshoots or other meetings. This position reports directly to the Senior Designer. The Graphic Designer may have other duties assigned that are not listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities

Graphic Designer (COMO Mag/CBT)

· Design beautiful, engaging content pages for our monthly publications, COMO Magazine and COMO Business Times (CBT).

· Create eye-catching publication ads for clients.

· Help shape and manage the visual style of our publications, ensuring consistency in the visual presentation of our brand.

· Be a part of content planning meetings and contribute ideas for editorial content.

· Attend photoshoots to help direct the photographer, prep set, style products, etc.

· Be comfortable providing feedback to other designers.

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines efficiently.

· Prepare & upload editorial content to websites through Wordpress

· Attend company events when needed.

· Handle additional tasks such as copywriting, copy-editing, photography, stock asset manipulation, and preparing files for print production.

Note: Applicants with experience in publication and print editorial work may have opportunities to take on greater publication responsibilities.

Graphic Designer (COMO Marketing)

· Develop and execute a range of print and digital marketing materials for clients and in-house projects—think brochures, flyers, presentations, digital ads, social media graphics, logo and branding work, and custom publications.

· Tailor your design work to align with the unique needs and brand guidelines of each client.

· Work within existing files and make revisions based on feedback from the team and clients, adapting to changes as they come.

· Follow best practices to maintain an efficient workflow, including file management, naming conventions, project management processes, and time tracking.

· Collaborate closely with the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations.

· Stay organized while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

· Attend and present in client meetings, when needed.

· Attend company events when needed.

Preferred Certifications, Education, and Experience

· An associate or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of graphic design or related field is preferred.

· 5 years’ experience in graphic design.

· Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is required. As well as the responsibility of time tracking and working within the project management platform, Asana.
