Comp Resource Group (CRG) has been retained by an Independent, privately owned cancer center to assist in hiring of the Radiation Therapist to join their growing team. This position is located in Columbia, South Carolina.
This Cancer Center is nationally known as one of the leading independent cancer centers and have been at the forefront of delivering compassionate state-of-the-art oncology services to the patients of the Midlands.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The essential responsibility of a Radiation Therapist is to assure the safe and effective radiation treatment is performed for the patient under his/her care.
- The radiation therapist is a member of the Radiation Oncology care team and has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment and equipment.
- Communication among team members is vital to effective patient care. Toward this end, it is imperative that the radiation therapist actively and openly communicate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, medical dosimetrists, and nurses, among other members of the team, to enable and ensure that appropriate transfer of information occurs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- The Radiation Therapist must have a working knowledge of radiation safety and an above average aptitude in mathematical skills.
- They must possess the ability to interpret treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols and the candidate must be able to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the planning process and properly deliver treatments.
- The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span, have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Salary up to $108,000.
