WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide school-based recreational therapy services to students who may have physical, cognitive, behavioral, and social / emotional impairments that adversely affect their educational performance.
  • WHAT IT TAKES

  • 1 year of experience (Required)
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field such as Recreation or Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Recreational Therapy / Therapeutic Recreation. (Required)
  • Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) (Required)

    Oral and written communication – Listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; participate in meetings; read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Write clearly and informatively using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

    Professionalism – Approach others in a tactful manner; react well under pressure; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; except responsibility of own actions; follow through on commitments.

    Quality – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality.

    Safety and Security – Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.

    Attendance / Punctuality – Attend work consistently and on time; arrive at meetings and appointments on time.

    Documentation – Correctly complete documentation (service logs, company / school documentation), sign in / out at assigned work site consistently.

    Dependability – Follow instructions, respond to management direction; take responsibility of own actions. Meet commitments, follow company policies and procedures.

  • YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Follow company policies and procedures as stated in the company handbook
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws and school district guidelines and regulations
  • Provide recreational therapy services to students with IEPs
  • Help students develop and enhance necessary skills for successful participation in the school setting through purposeful recreation and leisure interventions.
  • Maintain thorough confidential student records to document attendance, participation, and progress towards IEP goals.
  • Document delivery of services on specified data base (Welligent, SEIS, etc.) on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Maintain 100% compliance on service delivery.
  • Submit weekly / monthly compliance reports to Supervisor or Compliance Manager
  • Travel to various sites within a 50-mile radius if necessary for this position
  • Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
  • Other duties as requested appropriate for Recreational Therapist
