The Family Consultant is COMPACT’s unique approach to foster care case management. Family Consultants serve COMPACT foster families in a supportive and collaborative role. They coordinate therapeutic, medical, and educational services as well as serve as a hub of communication between foster families and DCFS, court, and other outside entities.
Family Consultants make regular in-home visits for foster families, offering support and encouragement as well as assistance with training implementation and case planning. The Family Consultant will also be responsible for providing solutions to challenges that foster families face.
This is a part-time hourly position with varying work hours and will be based in Jefferson County.
Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field or a Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ work experience in a human services field. Will be required to complete 24 hours of job-related continuing education pre year. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are also required. Previous casework experience is helpful, and applicant must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs.
