2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
PURPOSE:
To inspect raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure they meet customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately document all quality checks utilizing a tablet.
- Taste product to ensure it matches the flavor of the standard.
- Check the weights of the product being produced to ensure they are within range.
- Inspect all aspects of packaging to ensure the product container is in good condition with proper coding.
- Ensure all food safety standards are being followed and address respectfully to get behaviors corrected.
- Preform all quality processes following written procedures.
- Complete visual and swabbing inspections prior to operational of equipment.
- Test metal detectors, x-ray machines, and check weighers to ensure proper functioning.
- Place non-conforming product on hold and escalate the concerns.
- Conduct laboratory-testing procedures such as brix, density, flowability, sensory and weights as required.
- Utilize chronometers, refractometers, moistures, scales, pH equipment, air pumps, vacuum chambers, and incubators to complete testing.
- Communicate and collaborate with different departments and at all levels of the organization.
- Understand all of the information contained within a product specification sheet.
- Oversee PEM programs are following the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules.
- Assist with any nonconforming product and ensure good communication with 3rd party laboratory vendor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least one year working in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications.
- Problem solving and decision making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walk or stand 95% of the time.
- Overtime availability based upon company needs.
